War and Order Artifact XP and Shards: Blue and Purple Costs

War and Order artifact XP and shard costs: a Blue artifact takes 658,360 XP and 540 shards to max, a Purple 1,921,750 XP and 1,000 shards.

Updated: November 2, 2026

The short answer

In WaoHive's data, a War and Order Blue artifact takes 658,360 XP to go from level 1 to its limit of 30, and 540 shards to reach 4 stars. A Purple artifact takes 1,921,750 XP to reach level 40, and 1,000 shards to reach 5 stars. Most of the XP sits at the top: the last 10 levels take 79% of a Blue artifact's XP and 61% of a Purple's.

This post covers XP across qualities and shards for Blue and Purple, which have no ranks. Orange stars and ranks have their own guide. None of these numbers has been verified in the game, so check the game before spending on a large step.

XP by level for each quality

The running totals below start from level 1. The tables differ by quality, so the same level costs more on a better artifact. Level 30 takes 13.5% more XP on Purple than on Blue, and 33.3% more on Orange. Orange is listed as Gold in some tables on our Tables page, and the numbers are the same.

40Limit is 301,921,7502,260,330

How steep the last levels are

One level near the top costs more than many early levels together. Blue's level 30 alone is 73,050 XP, while all of levels 2 to 15 come to 36,730. On Purple, level 40 alone is 148,500 XP, and the stretch from 30 to 40 is 1,174,700, more than the 747,050 it took to reach 30.

So level 30 is a natural place to pause on a Purple artifact if XP is short. It has used 39% of the XP needed for level 40. Likewise, level 20 uses only 21% of the Blue total. Each stop leaves the main stat lower, as that grows by a fixed amount per level, so the question is whether the rest of the bonus is worth the XP to you. The Packs tool's Artifact Experience 1k items give a sense of scale. Taking the name to mean 1,000 XP each, a full Blue artifact is about 659 of them and a full Purple about 1,922.

Shards for Blue and Purple

Star prices are the same across qualities, and only the number of stars changes. A Blue and a Purple artifact both reach 4 stars for 540 shards, and the fifth star on Purple adds 460, which is nearly as much again. Blue and Purple have no ranks in the data, so each star is one purchase.

The star level requirements do not add up

Be careful with level requirements on these two qualities. The data gives a required level for each star, and 9 of the 10 Purple artifacts follow the same steps as Orange: 10, 20, 30 and 40 for stars 2 to 5. Gusli is the exception, listing level 40 for all of them.

Blue is the real problem. Seven of the eight Blue artifacts list level 20, 30 and 40 for stars 2 to 4, yet Blue artifacts stop at level 30, so the fourth star could never be reached as written. Chu-Ko-Nu lists level 30 for all three. The Artifacts tool applies its level rule to Orange stages and does not use these Blue and Purple figures, so please confirm the requirement in the game before you plan around it.

What Blue and Purple artifacts give

The main stat grows with level and is shown at max level here, and the last column is the stat added at the final star. Stars 2 and up add other stats too, and the Artifacts tool lists them all. The data has no artifact skills for either quality, so what you see in these stats is the whole bonus we can report.

Using the Calculator

In the Artifacts tool, open Calculator and pick a quality, then a start and target level and star. It returns the XP and shards between those points. It does not count what you own, so subtract your stock yourself. The Force Artifact and Crown Artifact sections each take five artifacts and add up the stats of your lineup, so you can test whether a cheaper stop still gives what you want.

If you are also working on gear, Equipments follows a similar idea for six slots and has a field for the materials you own. Both tools save in your browser with no account, and neither is linked to your game account, so your levels are only as current as your last entry.
